To introduce sardines in the dog’s diet, there’s nothing like preparing a homemade snack, using only natural and fresh products. With this in mind, we brougth below a simple recipe you can make at home even without a lot of work and at low cost.

Snack of sardines

Ingredients (for 2 medium bakings):

  • 500 grams of sardine fillet
  • 2 and 1/2 cups of whole-wheat flour or oat flour:
  • 1 egg
  • Cookie pan

Directions

  • Heat the oven at 356°F temperature
  • Mince sardine fillet without the fin with the food processor.
  • Mix sardines, flour and egg in a bowl and stir to form a homogeneous mass
  • Roll the dough into a flat and well-cleaned surface with a rolling pin reaching about 1 cm height.
  • Cut the mass with the molds, removing it with a spatula, being careful not to break it.
  • Place the biscuits on the baking – you do not need to grease it – and bake them in a preheated oven for 15 minutes at one side. Turn around them, leaving another 15 minutes to bake the other side.
  • Let them cool, serve or freeze them.

It is important to remember that although sardines bring many benefits, it should not be served as the only food for your dog, for not providing all proteins and vitamins that your dog needs.
